So, what is clorur càlcic?
Calcium chloride, also known as "clorur càlcic" in Catalan, is a white crystalline salt that is highly soluble in water. It is commonly used as a food ingredient to enhance flavor and firmness, especially in fruits and vegetables. Calcium chloride can also be used as a preservative, helping to extend the shelf life of food products by slowing down bacterial growth. In addition, it is used in cheese making to promote coagulation and improve texture. Despite its name, calcium chloride does not contain chlorine, making it safe for consumption when used in appropriate amounts.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
