So, what is comté cheese?

Comté cheese is a semi-hard, unpasteurized cow's milk cheese that originated in the Jura Massif region of eastern France. It has a nutty and earthy flavor profile with a slightly sweet finish, making it perfect for both cooking and snacking. Comté cheese is aged for at least 4 months and up to 24 months, resulting in a range of textures from creamy to crumbly. Its rind is natural, brushed, and gives off an aroma of cave aging. This versatile cheese pairs well with a variety of wines and fruits and can elevate any dish with its unique taste and texture.
