So, what is cukrus?
Cukrus, also known as "cukrūs" in Lithuanian, is a natural sweetener commonly used in Lithuanian cuisine. This fine-grained sugar is derived from sugar beets, which are abundant in Lithuania's fertile soils. Cukrus has a subtle sweetness that enhances the flavor of any dish it's added to, making it a popular choice for baked goods and desserts. Its fine texture also makes it easy to blend into drinks, smoothies, and sauces. Due to its natural production process and lack of added chemicals, cukrus is a healthier alternative to refined sugar.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
