So, what is cultures de kéfir?
Cultures de kéfir are living organisms used to ferment milk and create a tangy, slightly effervescent beverage. Originating from the Caucasus region, these cultures consist of a symbiotic combination of bacteria and yeasts. The resulting drink has a unique, slightly sour taste and is known for its probiotic properties, which can aid in digestion and promote gut health. Cultures de kéfir can also be used to ferment other liquids, such as fruit juice or coconut water, providing a versatile and nutritious ingredient for a variety of culinary applications.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
