So, what is d-biotine?
D-biotin, also known as vitamin H, is a water-soluble B-vitamin that plays a vital role in the metabolism of fats, carbohydrates, and proteins. It is necessary for the production of energy, as well as the growth and maintenance of healthy skin, hair, and nails. D-biotin is also involved in the synthesis of fatty acids and in the conversion of amino acids into glucose. This essential nutrient is found in a variety of foods, including eggs, nuts, meats, and dairy products, and can also be taken as a dietary supplement. D-biotin deficiency is rare, but can lead to symptoms such as hair loss, skin rash, and neurological problems.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
