So, what is d e160b?
D E160b, also known as annatto, is a natural food colorant derived from the seeds of the achiote tree, which is native to tropical regions of South America. The ingredient has a bright orange-yellow hue, making it a popular addition to foods such as cheeses, butter, margarine, and snack foods. Annatto is often used as a substitute for synthetic food dyes because it is considered safe for consumption and does not have the negative health effects associated with some artificial colorings. Additionally, annatto is high in antioxidants and may have potential health benefits, such as reducing inflammation and protecting against cancer.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
