So, what is date sugar?
Date sugar is a natural sweetener derived from dried dates. Unlike refined sugar, it is minimally processed and retains the fiber and nutrients present in whole dates. It has a rich, caramel-like flavor with notes of honey and molasses, making it a popular alternative to white sugar in baking and cooking. Date sugar is also considered low-glycemic, meaning it doesn't cause spikes in blood sugar levels like traditional sugar does. It can be used in a 1:1 ratio for recipes that call for brown sugar or granulated sugar, and adds a wholesome touch to any dish.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
