So, what is de curcuma?
Turmeric, also known as "de curcuma", is a vibrant yellow-orange spice derived from the root of the Curcuma longa plant. With a slightly bitter and warm flavor, turmeric is commonly used in Indian and Middle Eastern cuisine, as well as in traditional medicine. Its active ingredient, curcumin, is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound that may offer several health benefits, including improved brain function and reduced risk of chronic diseases. Turmeric can be added to a variety of dishes, including curries, soups, and rice dishes, and is also used to color and flavor mustards, cheeses, and butters.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
