So, what is du poireau¹?
Du poireau, also known as leek in English, is a versatile vegetable that belongs to the same family as onions and garlic. It has a long, slender, and cylindrical shape with dark green leaves on top and white flesh on the bottom. Leeks have a mild and sweet flavor with a subtle hint of onion-like taste, making them an excellent addition to many savory dishes such as soups, stews, and casseroles. Rich in vitamins A, C, and K, as well as iron and manganese, leeks are a nutritious and delicious way to add flavor and texture to your meals.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
