what is vegan

Is e300 vegan?

E300 is a food additive that is commonly known as ascorbic acid or vitamin C. It is a naturally occurring organic compound that is widely used in the food industry as a preservative, antioxidant, and acidity regulator. Ascorbic acid is a white or slightly yellow crystalline powder that is odorless and tasteless. It is commonly added to fruit juices, baked goods, and canned fruits and vegetables to prevent spoilage and discoloration. As an antioxidant, E300 helps to protect food from oxidation, which can cause rancidity and spoilage. Additionally, it is used as an acidity regulator to maintain the pH balance of certain foods. Despite its numerous benefits, E300 should be used in moderation as excessive consumption can cause adverse effects such as stomach upset and diarrhea.

E300 is a vegan food ingredient.
