It is a synthetic mineral salt manufactured industrially by reacting phosphoric acid, which is obtained from mined phosphate rock, with potassium hydroxide or potassium carbonate. The resulting mixture is subsequently heated to high temperatures to form the dehydrated triphosphate compound.
Food manufacturers utilize e451ii as an emulsifier, stabilizer, acidity regulator, and moisture-retention agent. It frequently appears on ingredient labels for instant noodles, commercial baked goods, processed potato products, sauces, powdered beverage mixes, and plant-based meat and dairy alternatives.
