So, what is ecet?
Ecet is a Hungarian word that translates to "vinegar" in English. Vinegar is a versatile ingredient used in a variety of dishes around the world, from salad dressings and marinades to pickling and preserving. Ecet is typically made by fermenting alcoholic liquids such as wine or cider, which are then oxidized into acetic acid. The resulting product has a sour, acidic flavor that adds brightness and depth to dishes. Beyond its culinary applications, ecet has also been used for medicinal and cleaning purposes due to its antiseptic and disinfectant properties.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
