So, what is et sorbitol?
Et sorbitol, also known as sorbitan esters, are a group of food additives derived from sorbitol and fatty acids. These compounds are commonly used in the food industry as emulsifiers, which help to mix together ingredients that would normally separate. Et sorbitol is often found in baked goods, dairy products, and chocolate, among other food items. It is considered safe for consumption by regulatory agencies, and can help to improve the texture and consistency of foods while also extending their shelf life. However, excessive consumption of et sorbitol may cause digestive issues in some individuals.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
