So, what is fennel seed?
Fennel seed is a small, oblong-shaped spice that comes from the fennel plant. It has a pale green color and a distinct licorice-like flavor with a slightly sweet aftertaste. Fennel seeds are commonly used in cooking, particularly in Mediterranean, Indian, and Middle Eastern cuisine, and are a staple ingredient in many spice blends. They are also popular in herbal medicine for their digestive and anti-inflammatory properties. Fennel seeds can be added to a variety of dishes, including roasted vegetables, soups, stews, and baked goods, or can be brewed into a fragrant tea.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
