So, what is gedeeltelijk geharde raapzaadolie?
Gedeeltelijk geharde raapzaadolie, also known as partially hydrogenated rapeseed oil, is a commonly used food ingredient. It is derived from rapeseed, which is a member of the Brassicaceae family. The oil undergoes a process called partial hydrogenation that results in increased shelf life and stability at room temperature. However, this process also leads to the formation of trans fats, which have been linked to an increased risk of heart disease. Therefore, many countries have imposed restrictions on the use of partially hydrogenated oils in food products. Despite this, partially hydrogenated rapeseed oil is still used in some processed foods such as margarine, snack foods, and baked goods.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
