So, what is glicerolo?
Glicerolo, also known as glycerol, is a colorless, odorless, sweet-tasting ingredient that is commonly used in the food industry as a sweetener, thickener, and preservative. It is a naturally occurring compound found in animal and vegetable fats and oils, and can also be synthesized from sugar or propylene. Glicerolo has a high viscosity and is highly soluble in water, making it a popular ingredient in many food and beverage products such as baked goods, confectionery, and soft drinks. In addition to its role in food production, glicerolo also has applications in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries as a moisturizer and emollient.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
