So, what is glutamato monosódíco?
Glutamato monosódico, also known as monosodium glutamate (MSG), is a flavor enhancer commonly used in Asian cuisine and processed foods. It is a white crystalline powder with a slightly sweet and savory taste that can intensify the umami flavor in foods. MSG is derived from the amino acid glutamate and sodium, which work together to activate specific taste receptors in the tongue. Although controversial, studies suggest that MSG is safe for most people when consumed in moderation. Its use is regulated in many countries and is labeled as an ingredient in food products.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
