So, what is glycerin?
Glycerin, also known as glycerol, is a clear, odorless, and viscous liquid that is commonly used as a food ingredient. It is a natural substance that is derived from vegetable oils or animal fats through a process called hydrolysis. Glycerin has a sweet taste and is often used as a sweetener or humectant in food products, such as candy, baked goods, and beverages. It can also be used as a preservative and texture enhancer in various food formulations. Due to its moisturizing properties, glycerin is also used in personal care and cosmetic products, such as soaps, lotions, and toothpaste.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
