So, what is glycol copolymer?
Glycol copolymers are synthetic compounds that are commonly used as food additives. These polymers are created by combining two or more types of glycols, such as ethylene and propylene glycol. They are often added to foods and beverages as stabilizers, thickeners, and emulsifiers, helping to improve their texture and consistency. Glycol copolymers are also used in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and personal care products, as they are non-toxic and generally considered safe for human consumption. Despite their widespread use, some studies have raised concerns about potential health risks associated with long-term exposure to these compounds, so their safety is still a topic of ongoing research.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
