So, what is graines demoutarde?
Graines de moutarde, or mustard seeds in English, are small round seeds that come from various species of the mustard plant. These seeds have a slightly bitter and pungent taste and are commonly used as a spice in many cuisines around the world. They can be black, brown, or yellow in color, with the latter being the most common type used in cooking. Mustard seeds are a great source of antioxidants, fiber, and minerals such as selenium and magnesium. They can be used whole or ground, and are often used in pickling, marinades, sauces, and spice blends. Mustard seeds are also a key ingredient in making mustard condiments, such as Dijon mustard and whole-grain mustard.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
