So, what is guakernmehl?
Guakernmehl, also known as guar gum, is a versatile food ingredient commonly used as a thickener, stabilizer, and emulsifier. It is derived from the endosperm of the guar plant, which is native to India and Pakistan. This fine, white powder has a neutral taste and is soluble in both hot and cold water. Guakernmehl is frequently used in gluten-free baking as a substitute for wheat flour, as it helps to improve texture and moisture retention. Additionally, it is commonly found in dairy products, dressings, and sauces, and is often added to frozen desserts to prevent ice crystal formation.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
