So, what is huile de carthame?
Huile de carthame, or safflower oil, is a versatile and healthy cooking oil that comes from the seeds of the safflower plant. With a high smoke point, it can be used for high-heat cooking methods such as frying and sautéing without breaking down or producing harmful substances. This oil is also rich in polyunsaturated fatty acids, particularly linoleic acid, which has been associated with numerous health benefits such as improved cholesterol levels and reduced inflammation. Huile de carthame is a great alternative to traditional cooking oils and can add a unique nutty flavor to dishes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
