So, what is huile de coco?
Huile de coco, or coconut oil in English, is a versatile and healthy food ingredient that is extracted from the kernel or meat of mature coconuts. This tropical oil has a distinct aroma and flavor, and is widely used in cooking and baking, as well as in skin and hair care products. Coconut oil is rich in medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), which are quickly metabolized by the body for energy and have been linked to several health benefits, including improved brain function and weight loss. Additionally, huile de coco is a great source of lauric acid, which has antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
