So, what is huile de soja hydrogenee?
Huile de soja hydrogénée is a French term that translates to "hydrogenated soybean oil" in English. This ingredient is made by heating soybean oil in the presence of hydrogen gas, which causes the liquid oil to become more solid and stable at room temperature. Hydrogenation also changes the chemical structure of the oil, creating trans fats which can have negative health effects if consumed in excess. Hydrogenated soybean oil is commonly used in processed foods, such as baked goods, margarine, and snack foods, as it improves their texture and shelf life. However, due to concerns about trans fats, many food manufacturers have switched to using alternative oils.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
