So, what is isoglucose?
Isoglucose, also known as high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), is a sweetener derived from corn starch. It is a liquid syrup that has a similar sweetness to sucrose, but is cheaper to produce. Isoglucose is commonly used as a sweetener in soft drinks, baked goods, and processed foods. It has been a controversial ingredient in recent years due to concerns over its potential link to obesity and other health issues. While some studies suggest that isoglucose may have negative effects on health, others argue that it is safe to consume in moderation.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
