So, what is kafein?

Caffeine, also known as "kafein," is a natural stimulant found in many beverages and foods such as coffee, tea, and chocolate. It works by blocking the neurotransmitter adenosine, which helps to promote wakefulness and improve cognitive function. Caffeine has been shown to have various health benefits like improving mental alertness, reducing the risk of some diseases, and boosting exercise performance. However, excessive consumption can lead to negative side effects such as anxiety, insomnia, and high blood pressure. Despite this, caffeine remains one of the most widely consumed psychoactive substances in the world.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like kafein?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
