what is vegan

Is knotweed vegan?

Knotweed, also known as Japanese knotweed, is a herbaceous perennial plant that is commonly found in Asia, Europe, and North America. It has long, hollow stems with distinctive nodes and heart-shaped leaves that grow up to six inches long. Knotweed is not only used for its ornamental value but also for its culinary and medicinal properties. This versatile ingredient can be cooked and eaten like asparagus or rhubarb or used in herbal remedies for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and blood pressure-lowering effects. Despite its many benefits, knotweed is considered an invasive species in some regions due to its rapid growth and ability to outcompete native plants.

Knotweed is a vegan food ingredient.
