So, what is la dextrine?
La dextrine is a carbohydrate derived from starch that is widely used in the food industry as a thickening agent, texturizer, and binder. It is a water-soluble polysaccharide that is obtained through the hydrolysis of starch molecules. La dextrine is produced by heating dry starch at high temperatures and then breaking down the starch molecules into smaller chains. This process creates a powder that is colorless, odorless, and tasteless, making it an ideal ingredient for use in a variety of food products. La dextrine is commonly found in baked goods, confectionery, and processed meats, among other food products.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
