So, what is lakka?

Lakka, also known as cloudberry, is a unique arctic berry that grows wild in the northern hemisphere. This golden orange fruit is sweet and tart with a distinctive flavor that has been compared to a cross between a raspberry and a peach. It is high in vitamin C and antioxidants, making it a popular ingredient in Nordic cuisine, particularly in jams, syrups, and liqueurs. Lakka is also used in savory dishes, such as sauces for meat and fish. Due to its short growing season and limited availability, lakka is considered a luxury ingredient that adds a touch of exclusivity to any dish.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like lakka?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
