So, what is lanosterol?
Lanosterol is a natural, organic compound and a member of the triterpenoid family of compounds. It is found in many plants and animals, including human beings. Lanosterol plays an important role in the biosynthesis of cholesterol, which is essential for the maintenance of cell membranes, hormone production, and bile acid synthesis. It also has potential therapeutic benefits, such as reducing cataract formation and improving vision in animals. In addition, recent studies have shown that lanosterol may have anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory properties, making it a promising candidate for future medical research.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
