So, what is fermentslactiques?
Ferments lactiques, also known as lactic acid bacteria, are a group of microorganisms that play a vital role in the fermentation process of many types of foods. These bacteria convert lactose and other sugars into lactic acid, which not only enhances the flavor and texture of fermented foods but also acts as a natural preservative. Commonly found in dairy products like yogurt and cheese, ferments lactiques also occur in other fermented foods like sauerkraut, kimchi, and sourdough bread. Beyond their culinary uses, these bacteria also have potential health benefits, such as improving digestion and boosting the immune system.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
