So, what is lecithine de?
Lecithin is a naturally occurring compound found in various foods and is commonly extracted from soybeans. Lecithin is a mixture of phospholipids, which are essential for cell membranes' structure and function. It is often used as an emulsifier in food production to help blend ingredients that would not normally mix, such as oil and water. Lecithin de refers to the de-oiled form of lecithin, which has had its oil content removed. This makes it an even more effective emulsifier, allowing for smoother and more consistent food products. Lecithin de is widely used in the food industry, including in baked goods, chocolate, and margarine.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
