So, what is lemon rind?
Lemon rind, also known as lemon zest, is the outermost layer of the lemon peel that contains the flavorful essential oils of the fruit. It is commonly used as a versatile ingredient in cooking and baking, adding a bright and tangy flavor to dishes ranging from savory to sweet. Lemon rind can be grated or thinly sliced to add zest to marinades, dressings, sauces, and desserts like cakes, pies, and cookies. It is also a rich source of antioxidants and vitamin C, making it a healthy and flavorful addition to any recipe.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
