So, what is les d'o?
"Les d'o" is a French culinary term that refers to shallots, a type of onion that has a milder and sweeter flavor than its close relative, the onion. Shallots are prized by chefs for their delicate yet complex taste, which adds depth and nuance to a wide range of dishes. They have a thin, papery skin and grow in clusters, with each bulb resembling a tiny garlic clove. Les d'o can be used in a variety of ways in the kitchen, from finely chopped and added raw to salads, to roasted whole and served as a side dish.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
