So, what is les graines de moutarde?
Les graines de moutarde, or mustard seeds in English, are a small, round spice with a pungent and distinct flavor. They are derived from several different species of the mustard plant, which are primarily grown in Asia and Europe. Mustard seeds come in different colors ranging from yellow, brown, and black. These tiny seeds are a rich source of nutrients, including minerals like magnesium, phosphorus, and potassium, as well as vitamins such as folate and vitamin A. Used extensively in Indian and Southeast Asian cuisine, mustard seeds can be toasted, ground, or used whole, imparting a bold, tangy flavor to dishes like curries, pickles, and marinades.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
