So, what is malate?
Malate is a naturally occurring compound that plays an essential role in many physiological processes, including cellular energy production and metabolism. It is a salt or an ester of malic acid, which is found in many fruits and vegetables such as apples, grapes, and apricots. Malate is often used as a food additive to enhance flavor, acidity, and stability. It is also a common ingredient in sports supplements due to its ability to support exercise performance and reduce muscle fatigue. Malate has been shown to have antioxidant properties, which may help protect against cellular damage and improve overall health.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
