So, what is maltodekstriin?
Maltodextrin is a white powder derived from starch, commonly used as a food additive in various processed foods due to its ability to enhance texture, improve mouthfeel, and increase shelf life. Maltodextrin is easily digestible and has a high glycemic index, making it a popular choice among athletes and bodybuilders for quick energy replenishment during exercise. It is also widely used as a thickener or filler in baking, dairy products, and beverages. However, maltodextrin may not be suitable for individuals with diabetes or those on low-carb diets as it can cause a sudden spike in blood sugar levels.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
