So, what is maniok?
Maniok, also known as cassava, is a root vegetable commonly found in tropical regions of the world. This starchy and nutty-tasting ingredient is a staple food in many parts of Africa, South America, and Asia. Maniok is highly versatile and can be prepared in various ways, including boiling, frying, or baking. It is a good source of carbohydrates and dietary fiber, making it a popular alternative to wheat and other grains. Maniok is also gluten-free and rich in vitamin C, thiamine, and folate. This nutritious ingredient is used in many traditional dishes, such as fufu, tapioca pudding, and yuca fries.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
