So, what is marc?
Marc is a byproduct of winemaking, consisting of grape skins, seeds, stems, and other solids leftover after pressing. This fibrous material is rich in antioxidants, fiber, and nutrients, making it a valuable ingredient in many culinary applications. It can be used as a flavoring agent in baked goods, such as bread or cookies, or as a base for brandies and liqueurs. Additionally, marc can be mixed with water and used as a compost or animal feed. Its unique flavor profile and versatility make it a prized ingredient in both the culinary and agricultural worlds.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
