So, what is meerrettich?
Meerrettich, also known as horseradish, is a pungent and spicy root vegetable that has been used in traditional medicine and culinary applications for centuries. Its distinctive flavor and aroma come from the presence of volatile oils, which are released when the root is grated or chopped. Meerrettich is a popular condiment in German and Eastern European cuisines, where it is often paired with meats, sausages, and fish. It is also used in sauces, spreads, and dressings, and can add a zesty kick to salads and sandwiches. Additionally, meerrettich is believed to have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, and is rich in vitamin C, potassium, and calcium.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
