So, what is monoglycerides glycerides (see glycerin)?
Monoglycerides glycerides are a type of emulsifier commonly used in food production. These compounds are derived from glycerin, a natural substance that is commonly found in animal and vegetable fats. Monoglycerides glycerides work by helping to blend together ingredients that would otherwise separate, such as oil and water. This makes them particularly useful in the creation of processed foods like baked goods, dairy products, and spreads. Despite some controversy over their safety, monoglycerides glycerides remain a common ingredient in the food industry due to their versatility and effectiveness as an emulsifier.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
