So, what is noix muscade?
Noix muscade, also known as nutmeg, is a spice derived from the seeds of the Myristica fragrans tree. It has a warm, sweet, and slightly nutty flavor, with a hint of bitterness. It is often used in both sweet and savory dishes, including baked goods, soups, stews, and sauces. The spice is typically used in small quantities due to its potent flavor, and is often grated or ground fresh for optimal flavor. In addition to its culinary uses, noix muscade is also used in traditional medicine for its purported health benefits, such as relieving pain and improving digestion.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
