So, what is nuez moscada?
Nuez moscada, also known as nutmeg, is a spice that comes from the seed of the evergreen tree Myristica fragrans. Native to the Moluccas islands in Indonesia, nutmeg has a warm, sweet, and slightly nutty flavor with a hint of bitterness. It is often used in baking, such as pies, cakes, and custards, as well as in savory dishes like stews, soups, and sauces. Nutmeg also has some medicinal properties and has been used traditionally to treat digestive problems, insomnia, and joint pain. However, it should be used in moderation as excessive consumption can lead to adverse effects.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
