So, what is oignon blanc?
Oignon blanc, also known as white onion, is a versatile ingredient commonly used in cooking. It has a milder flavor than yellow onions, making it perfect for dishes where a subtle onion taste is desired. White onions have a papery, white skin and a firm, juicy interior that can range from pale white to light yellow. They are often sliced and added to salads, salsas, and sandwiches, or caramelized to bring out their natural sweetness in sauces, soups, and stews. Oignon blanc is also a good source of vitamin C and fiber, making it a nutritious addition to any meal.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
