So, what is orthophosphate de sodium?
Orthophosphate de sodium, also known as sodium phosphate monobasic or monosodium phosphate, is a chemical compound commonly used as a food additive. It is typically used as an emulsifier, pH adjuster, and thickening agent in a variety of processed foods such as cheese, bakery products, and meat. It is also used as a buffering agent in the production of soft drinks and as a water softener in the brewing industry. Orthophosphate de sodium is generally recognized as safe by regulatory agencies and is considered a low-toxicity substance when consumed in moderate amounts. However, excessive intake may lead to health problems such as diarrhea and kidney damage, especially for individuals with renal impairment.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
