So, what is palmkern?
Palmkern, also known as palm kernel, is a tropical fruit ingredient commonly used in West African and Southeast Asian cuisine. It is extracted from the inner seed of the oil palm fruit and has a hard outer shell that needs to be removed before use. Palmkern is high in healthy fats and contains essential nutrients like vitamin E and potassium. It has a nutty flavor and can be ground into a paste or used as an oil in cooking. Its versatility makes it a popular ingredient in both sweet and savory dishes, including curries, cakes, and soups.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
