So, what is pàte d'ail?
Pâte d'ail, also known as garlic paste, is a versatile and flavorful ingredient commonly used in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisines. Made from fresh garlic cloves that are finely minced and mixed with oil or water, this paste adds a pungent, slightly sweet taste to dishes. It can be used as a marinade for meat or vegetables, spread on bread or crackers, or incorporated into dressings and sauces. Pâte d'ail is also a great alternative to fresh garlic when you don't have time to chop or mince it yourself, as the paste provides all the flavor without any of the hassle.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
