So, what is pectine de?
Pectin is a soluble fiber found in the cell walls of fruits and vegetables. It is commonly used as a gelling agent in jams, jellies, and other food products. "Pectine de" refers to pectin that has been extracted from the peels of citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons, and grapefruits. This type of pectin has a high degree of esterification, which means it gels quickly and forms a strong gel. It is commonly used in the food industry as a thickener, stabilizer, and emulsifier. Pectine de is also used in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics for its binding properties.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
