So, what is pine nut?
Pine nuts are small, ivory-colored seeds extracted from the pine tree cones. They have a rich, buttery flavor and a delicate texture that makes them a favorite ingredient in various dishes worldwide. Pine nuts are nutrient-dense and are an excellent source of protein, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals, including magnesium, zinc, and vitamin E. They are a popular ingredient in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine, where they are used to add a nutty flavor to dishes like pesto, salads, and pilafs. Pine nuts are also a perfect snack and can be roasted, toasted, or eaten raw.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
