So, what is pogy oil?

Pogy oil is a nutrient-rich culinary oil derived from menhaden fish, a small, oily fish found in the Atlantic and Gulf coasts of North America. With a mild, clean taste and a high smoke point, pogy oil is an ideal ingredient for frying, sautéing, and roasting. It's a rich source of omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for brain function and heart health, and is also high in vitamin D. Pogy oil is a sustainable choice, as menhaden fish are abundant and provide an important food source for larger fish and marine mammals.

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".
